After 29 years of service to Notre Dame Regional High School, Jeff Worley has stepped down as assistant principal and taken a position at CPU, Inc.
Worley is a 1988 graduate of Notre Dame. He returned to the high school as an assistant coach for the boys’ soccer program under Brad Wittenborn in 1993. In 1995, he joined the faculty full time and taught Physical Education, Math and Technology for 25 years, being named the Cape Chamber Educator of the Year in 2016. In his most recent role as assistant principal for project management, Worley has been responsible for facilities, technology and special projects.
Throughout his time at Notre Dame, Worley has been the dean of students, technology coordinator, software administrator, director of facilities, and technical theatre director.
He acted as the construction and project manager during the construction of the school’s current building at 265 Notre Dame Drive, and the building expansion that happened in 2010. In 2011, he managed the tennis court construction and soccer field redesign projects.
“Suffice it to say that if there has been something done at Notre Dame High School in the past 25, Jeff Worley has most likely been a part of it, and in many cases, in charge of it,” said Principal Tim Garner. “Jeff has been the epitome of a servant leader at Notre Dame. From administrating technology changes, to working with our maintenance staff, to pulling data cables to every corner of our building, Jeff has done it all.”
Coaching
Worley spent 17 seasons coaching the boys’ soccer team, and was part of three state championship squads. Worley was a driving force in starting a girls’ soccer program in 1996, leading the program for 18 years and amassing a 245-148-21 record. Under his tenure, the girls team won nine district titles and had two final four appearances. He was also named Region Coach of the Year in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2014, and was inducted into Notre Dame Regional High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020.
In addition to soccer, Worley coached the school’s Robotics team for 10 years. The team participated in the state meet during the 2015, 2022 and 2023 seasons.
“Jeff impacted countless lives as a longtime soccer coach,” said Garner. “He is also responsible for starting our robotics program and many of the technology classes that we currently offer.”
Worley Reflects on Time at Notre Dame
Jeff Worley said, “Over the past 29 years at Notre Dame High School, my journey as a teacher, coach, and administrator has been a profound and rewarding experience. I am filled with gratitude that the school has been my second home. The people I’ve met, the friendships I’ve forged, and the lives I’ve touched have enriched my life immeasurably. The journey has taught me patience, resilience, and adaptability, and it’s the indomitable spirit of Notre Dame High School that has kept me going.
Education, coaching, and administration have been my life’s purpose, and I am truly fortunate to have been part of this wonderful community for nearly three decades. I have been blessed to work with so many dedicated faculty members, staff, students, and parents to send Apostles out into the world. The past 29 years have been a gift, and I eagerly look forward to seeing the impact of Notre Dame grow.”
