Notre Dame Regional High School’s Luke Richey has earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.
Richey is the son of Wade & Rachel Richey of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is a 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist and a recipient of the Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award.
In 2022, Richey was the FBLA state champion in Introduction to Business, and in 2023, was the state champion in the International Business category. He has made the All-District Scholar Bowl team twice, and was on the All-District soccer team in 2022 and All-District choir in 2021. He has attended Missouri Scholars Academy, Missouri Boys State, and the Constitutional Democracy Academy at the University of Missouri’s Kinder Institute.
Richey has earned a gold medal on the Spanish II and Spanish III National Spanish Exam, and a bronze medal on the National French Exam for French I. He has a decorated Math Field Day resume, placing first in Probability and Number Theory in 2023, second in Probability in 2022, was a member of the first place Algebra II team in 2022, and on the 2023 second-place Trigonometry team.
At Notre Dame, Richey is currently the president of National Honor Society, secretary of National Spanish Honor Society, president of FBLA, Scholar Bowl team captain, a student council representative, varsity soccer player, student ambassador and peer helper.
Richey has also been student of the year for the following classes: Pre-Calculus, Spanish III, Chemistry, French I, Oral Communications, Honors Algebra II, Business and Personal Law, and Health.
After graduation, Richey is interested in studying engineering and law.
