The Notre Dame girls basketball team is excited to become a unified force as they head into the season. The team graduated six seniors last year, so several underclassmen fill their shoes.
The team features seniors Tori Rubel and Anna Garner, junior Madelyn White, and sophomores Maddy Erbst and Skylar Craft. Head Coach Kirk Boeller will also look to three freshmen — Kate Rubel, Brie Rubel, and Neveah Cortez-Lucious — to make an impact on varsity this season.
“I feel really good about the freshmen this year. They are very talented, tall, and athletic. They are good people. They are better people than they are good basketball players,” Boeller said.
The goal for the team this year is to not only bond well and work together to be successful, but also to have fun in the process.
“ I hope we have an enjoyable season, I hope everyone enjoys playing, I hope we get closer as a team, and at the end of the year we are able to compete for a district championship,” Boeller said.
The team will kick off their season at the SEMO Conference Tournament on November 28 in Kennett.
