Junior Owen Blattel attended the Hugh O’Brien Youth Missouri Leadership Seminar at Webster University in St. Louis.
TJ Bolen participated in the Missouri Leadership Seminar. The seminar is an immersive leadership experience for high schoolers just finishing their sophomore year.
Samuel Canter served as a crew leader for a group of Boy Scouts that completed a 12-day backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico.
Junior Sonnie Childress attended the CYCLE Youth Tour, sponsored by SEMO Electric Co-op, in Jefferson City this summer. The focus of the conference is to “show students more about electric cooperatives, teach leadership skills and experience Missouri state government.”
Olivia Cisneros attended the Missouri S&T Innovations in STEM Camp and Intro to Engineering Camp.
Nicholas Dial attended the Missouri Scholars Academy at the Mizzou Honors College, while Sophia Emmons attended Mizzou’s Mini Medical School.
Colleen Jimerson participated in Missouri Girls State, while Matthew Austin, Blaine Schlosser and Cole Williams attended Missouri Boys State.
Madelyn McDowell attended the Missouri Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.
Aidan Ornburn participated in the National Youth Leadership Training with Scouting America, and Silvia Schallberger attended the 2024 Rotary Camp Enterprise.
Megan Berghoff and Brooklyn Gosche competed at the FCCLA National Convention in Seattle, Washington in July.
Six students participated in the MoDOT / Cape Girardeau Police Department’s TRACTION Conference: Aveney Kandiah, Charlotte Spence, Teresa Taylor, Cameron Naughton, Addison Stefan and Xavana Valera. TRACTION stands for “Teens Taking Action to Prevent Traffic Crashes.”
Twenty-eight students and eight faculty chaperones attended the Joan Strohmeyer Notre Dame Summer Mission Trip to Montgomery, AL in June. Students included the following: Hannah Bledsoe, Laynie Brown, Lily Carr, Michael Eftink, Sam Galati, Caleb Heisserer, Clarke James, Camila Keller, Sylvia Kester, Lyla Martin, Grayson Maurer, Kayla Niedbalski, Mena Pavone, Sam Pletcher, Will Renaud, Isaac Renick, Elena Ripperda, Lucy Ripperda, Kate Rowland, Silvia Schallberger, Hallie Shamoun, Ryder Siebert, Abbie Spooler, Lydia Strohmeyer, Madison Walker, Lexi Welter, Elle West and Lexi Young. Faculty chaperones were Kirk Boeller, Meridith Brinkmeyer, Lenny Kuper, Matt Rowland, Angela Schaefer, Mallory Siebert, Gerry Strohmeyer and Sarah Strohmeyer.
