Notre Dame’s Ms. Alexana Koishor has been selected to receive a 2022 National Certified School Counselor Award! These awards recognize school counselors who have invested extraordinary effort to meet the needs of youth in their communities.

There are more than 68,000 National Certified Counselors across the United States. These counselors strive to meet mental health needs within their community and promote the growth, development, and resilience of the individuals with whom they work. Prior to the pandemic, approximately a quarter of school-aged youth qualified for mental health services, and the pandemic has exacerbated the challenges faced by children relative to food security, health, stress, family violence, substance abuse, and anxiety. School counselors are working diligently to identify resources and innovative ways to connect with students and families and provide much needed services. School counselors, simply put, are working each day to keep children safe, help youth succeed, and foster a positive future for our communities. They are heroes and we celebrate their work and impact.

Ms. Koishor has demonstrated impactful innovations and programs with Notre Dame and is being recognized for those efforts. NBCC and Affiliates applauds Ms. Koishor’s efforts and values her contributions. In addition to national recognition, Ms. Koishor will receive a cash award to support her continued work with students.
