  • MONDAY – Regular Day! ND Dress Down for Seniors.
  • TUESDAY –Movie Day! – meet at Cape West 14 Cine by 8:00am. Return to ND for start of 5th hour (11:30), ND dress code.
  • WEDNESDAY – BINGO! Attend homeroom through 4th hour at ND.  Report to Bingo World in Cape by 1pm.  Dismiss from Bingo World. (ND dress code)
  • THURSDAY – Picnic Day! 10am – 2 pm at Arena Park, picnic attire with modesty
  • FRIDAY – OFF DAY! NO school. Enjoy Prom and Project Prom.
  • Graduate and parent/guardian only attend.
  • Students should arrive at 5:30pm for pictures.  Formal attire (Girls: modest dress and no exposed shoulders; Boys: shirt, tie and coat).
  • Ceremony begins at 6pm.

Seniors can wear a college t-shirt with dress code bottoms.

LIVING ROSARY

  • Start time 2pm.
  • Parents & Grandparents are welcome to attend.
  • Assembly schedule. Seniors dismissed from 7th hour with a few minutes left to put on graduation gowns (no caps) in the cafetorium.
  • Formal attire (Girls: modest dress, no exposed shoulders, dress shoes; Boys: shirt and tie under gown, dress shoes).
  • This event will be streamed LIVE on the NFHS Network >> INSTRUCTIONS

POP CONCERT

  • Start time 7pm
  • Limited seating
  • You must have a digital or printed ticket to enter. Tickets will be scanned at the door. General admission tickets are $5.

SHIRT SIGNING DAY

  • Seniors wear a uniform shirt that can be signed and uniform bottoms.
  • Bring your own sharpie.
  • Shirts should be signed in between classes or at lunch so as not to disrupt any classes.

BAND CONCERT

  • Start time 7pm.

Friday and Monday May 7th and 10th, 11th make-up day

  • Bring your textbook if applicable.
  • All chromebooks must be dropped off at the library by 3:00 pm on Monday, May 10th (the last day of finals). Notre Dame Google Apps for Education licensing will be removed from the device. Please make sure your chromebook is charged. Devices will be ready for pickup in the commons following graduation practice on Wednesday, May 12th.
  • ND Dress Code is required.
  • If your exam is on the 7th, you do not have that class the 10th.
  • If your exam is on the 10th, you DO have that class on the 7th.
  • If you have no class or exam first period, you do not have to be in homeroom.
  • If you have a first period class or exam, you DO have to be in homeroom.
  • On exam days, you are present only when you have an exam or scheduled class. Your teacher should inform you.
  • MAY 11 – make-up exams if necessary

GRADUATION LITURGY (Attendance Mandatory)

  • Please park on west side of front lot (near Holy Family Shrine) and enter through cafeteria door.
  • Individual pictures in cap and gown will be taken at 8:15am in the gym. A class picture in cap and gown (tassel on the LEFT for picture) is at 9:00am. (DO NOT be late for these pictures).
  • Girls: modest dress, dress shoes; Boys: shirt and tie under gown, dress shoes. After the pictures we will go to King Hall to line-up. No caps during mass.
  • Graduation Liturgy begins at 10:15am.
  • Parents and Grandparents are welcome to attend!
  • This event will be streamed LIVE on the NFHS Network >> INSTRUCTIONS
  • Seniors are dismissed after Mass.
  • Pick up your chromebooks in the Commons as you leave.

AWARDS ASSEMBLY (Attendance Mandatory)

  • Immediately following the awards ceremony we will practice for the graduation ceremony. NO ONE MAY LEAVE FOR ANY REASON BETWEEN AWARDS AND PRACTICE. ALL SENIORS MUST BE PRESENT FOR THE PRACTICE. IT ENDS WHEN WE GET IT RIGHT.  Your cooperation will speed dismissal. Do not make plans for the afternoon.
  • Doors will open at 12:30pm
  • Families will be seated together. Students will draw for seating during Graduation practice.
  • Each graduate can obtain up to 6 tickets by clicking the link below

VALEDICTORIAN

Claire Southard

Claire Southard has been named the valedictorian of the Notre Dame Regional High School Class of 2021. Claire is the daughter of Stephen and Julie Southard of Cape Girardeau and is a member of LaCroix United Methodist Church. Academically, Claire has served as captain of the Varsity Scholar Bowl team, president of the National Honor Society, vice president of the Spanish National Honor Society, treasurer of the French National Honor Society, a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and participates in the Notre Dame Band.

She is also a student-athlete competing on the Girls’ Varsity Tennis team.

Claire competed at MSHSAA state tournaments in the Tennis Team, Tennis Individuals, Scholar Bowl, Piano, and Flute competitions; she placed fifth in Tennis Doubles. Additionally, she was named to All-State, All-Southeast Missouri, All-Conference, and All-District Tennis teams and was an All-District Band member four consecutive years.

Claire has also received other scholastic and service honors including National Merit Finalist, National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program Scholar, Missouri Scholars 100, Presidential Scholars nominee, three gold medals on the National Spanish Exam, silver medal on the National French Exam, Varsity Christian Service Award, and medalist in six Math Field Day events.

Claire has not finalized her plans for after graduation and is currently deciding between Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dartmouth College, Notre Dame University, Rice University, and University of Alabama. She plans on conducting medical research in the neuroscience field.

“I would like to thank my parents for always being my greatest advocates,” said Southard. “They’ve pushed me to become the best version of myself and wholeheartedly supported me in all of my endeavors. I don’t know where I would be without them, and I will forever be grateful for their love and encouragement. I truly could not have asked for a better mom and dad.”

SALUTATORIAN

Emma Higgins

Emma Higgins has been named the salutatorian of the Notre Dame Regional High School Class of 2021. Emma is the daughter of Brian and Crystal Higgins of Jackson and is a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Academically, Emma is involved in National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and served as secretary for National Spanish Honor Society.

As a student-athlete, Emma competed on the Girls’ Basketball team and the Cross Country team. Emma also performs with Select Singers and earned All-District Honor Choir.

Her other extracurricular activities include Franciscan Leadership Club, Athletes Give Back, Women in God’s Service (WinGS) club, and Friends of Mercy club. Emma’s scholastic and service honors include the Bright Flight Scholarship, two silver medals on the National Spanish Exam, honorable mention on the National Spanish Exam, and Academic Letters all four years.

After graduation, Emma plans to attend Franciscan University of Steubenville to major in Biochemistry. She hopes to pursue a career in biomedical research.

“I would like to thank my parents, brother, friends, classmates, and IC Youth Group for always supporting me,” said Higgins. “I would also like to thank my teachers for all of their help.”

Students who have maintained a minimum grade point average of 4.0 have been awarded a gold honor stole to wear at Graduation.
